WhatsApp is so popular around the world not just because it's free, but also because it's quite a robust messaging platform
WhatsApp can do more than just send messages — you can send emojis, photos, videos and much more to family and friend no matter where they are through your phone's data plan or a Wi-Fi connection. There are a couple of different ways to go about composing a message, so we'll cover that first.

Sending messages from the Chats screen with WhatsApp for iPhone

1. Launch WhatsApp from your Home screen. It's the icon that looks like a green speech bubble with a white telephone inside.
2. Tap the Chats tab on the bottom menu.
3. Tap the Compose message button in the top-right corner

4. In the New Chat window, swipe to scroll through your list of contacts who have WhatsApp installed on their phone.
5. Tap on a Contact to open the chat window.

Alternatively, Choose the contact or contacts to whom you'd like to send a message. Anyone you've previously messaged through WhatsApp will appear here.
You can also compose a group chat by tapping New Group, but we'll be diving into that topic [further down in this guide](link to group chats).
